Modeling and analysis of relief supply chain dynamics

Challenge:

In the situation of natural and man-made disasters such as floods, earthquakes and technological catastrophes short planning and response windows is provided,so quick decision making and action to rescue people are significantly important on social and economic costs and it is also very related to the urgent emergency relief supply for disaster victims in order to protect their health and save their lives.

Solution:

To develop a decision support framework for disaster management and rescue workers where the relief supply chain and propagation processes are imitated based on the recent floods in Kazakhstan.

Results:

The simulation results can then be used to clarify the response model of developed relief supply chain. The proposed model is scalable and flexible, hence it can assess a broad range of disaster types, evaluate existing plans and policies for disaster response, and to suggest better approaches for public authorities and emergency reaction agencies to prepare and react to different kinds of disasters.

The model was created with AnyLogic - simulation software / Disaster Management, Relief Supply Chain
