Surgical case cart II (optimization)

Optimization of the model with the same name (https://www.runthemodel.com/models/1825/).

The objective is to find the optimal number of case carts needed in order to supply an operating room.

Results:
Based on the profile (parameters of the operating room) and the average cycle time of the re-treatment (cleaning and preparation) of the carts after an intervention, the required number of carts to maintain in this hospital is 70.

Final note: In this model, the average re-treatment time is considered as an external variable; however, this process is done by an external area called the central sterilization department (CSD). An extension to this project is to also model the CSD to integrate it to a single simulation so the results are more accurate.
