Exposure to Radiation - Healthcare Application area: Radiation exposure research Simulation method: Agent Based, System Dynamics Exposure to RadiationIn this model an agent (a vehicle) has to visit several locations within a radioactive area. The radiation level depends on the distance from radiation sources and is different in different places. As the vehicle is travelling, its total exposure to radiation is calculated. The model illustrates two modes of agent movement: straight movement and movement along a given path. The agent movement is implemented as a statechart executing a list of commands. The exposure to radiation is implemented as a simple system dynamics structure with one flow equal to the radiation level at the current location of the agent, and one stock accumulating that flow.
