Agent Based Population Model - Social Dynamics

Agent Based Population Model

A simple agent based population model.

Initial population size is 100 people of age from 0 to 20 years. Each person is modeled individually as an agent. An agent can be male or female. Upon reaching the age of 20, a person starts looking for a job. If unable to find a job within a certain time, the person moves away from the area (and from the model). Having found a job, a person starts thinking towards having a family. Men search for women. After marriage, wife move to her husband's place. Families in this model can have up to three kids. When kids grow up, they move out of the family's place, start looking for job, etc.

Jobs are modeled in system dynamics style. The two-directional flows between the Vacancies and Employed stocks are controlled by the agents. Creation of new jobs depends on the unemployment. The number of jobs in the area is limited to 150.

The model was created with AnyLogic - simulation software / Population models
