Cardiovascular Disease - Healthcare Application area: Medicine, research Simulation method: Agent Based Cardiovascular DiseaseThis agent based model focuses on cardiovascular disease and its relations to life expectancy and associated 3rd party cost A group of 1000 patients is simulated for 100 years. All patients start at age 0. Every year each patient may die, have an MI, a stroke, or have no event. The probability of dying depends on individual MI and Stroke history. The probabilities of MI and Stroke depend on individual BMI, which it is distributed randomly throughout the group. Each event (death, MI, stroke) has an associated event cost. In addition, MI and Stroke also have background cost that is added every year after a patient has the corresponding event. The life expectancy statistics, MI and Stroke age distributions and the accumulated aggregate cost is displayed while the model is running. The model was created with AnyLogic - simulation software / Medicine, research Related Models |
