Supply Chain

This is a sample model of Supply Chain comprised of several interacting submodels: factory, retail shop, and consumer market.
Built using AnyLogic 6.9 Professional. The aim of the model is to show how a supply chain linked to the production line of a factory and the market.

Factory
~~~~~
The factory produces washing machines. This particular floor performs the final stage of manufacturing – assembling a finished machine from two parts – a body and a door.
The floor works as follows:
• Parts enter the shop and are transported by conveyors to the assembly station.
• Assembly robot assembles a washing machine from a body and a door.
• Finished machine is transported by a conveyor to the packaging line, where it is packed into a box by workers.
• Each 10 finished products compose a batch that is taken away from the factory by a truck.
Retailer
~~~~~

Initially retailer orders a number of products. These products are manufactured somewhere and delivered to the retailer. When delivered, they are stored in the retailer’s warehouse. Products are regularly sold by the store. When a new request for a product comes in, a product is taken from storage and sold to the customer.

When the number of stored products reaches a specified low level, a new batch of products are ordered to be delivered to the retailer and this brings inventory level up to a given upper level.

Market
~~~~~
Consumers (there are 5000 of them) initially are not using the product.
• Consumers purchase the product due to advertizing and word of mouth.
• If a person wants to buy the product, but it is not available for some time, he decides not to buy it and becomes a potential user again.
• Any product discards in the specified discard time and generates the immediate need to buy a replacement.
This is version 1.0 of the model. Next version will support 3D view.
